minutesFocaccia is the Italian bread with olive oil that you definitely need more of in your life. Here is a good base recipe for focaccia that you can eat as is, or together with other Italian food.
Ingredients
25 g Yeast
3 dl water
0.5 dl olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon salt. Flake salt is best
7 dl wheat flour. “Special” or 00-flour is best
- Optional, for taste and garnish
Bunch of Olives
Couple of pieces of Feta cheese
Rosemary
Directions
- Mix water, olive oil, honey, salt and yeast very well in a bowl
- Add flour little by little until everything is there
- Let the dough rise in a bowl under a cloth for about half an hour
- Oil two baking sheets with a lot of olive oil. Throw some flake salt at it too
- Smash the dough at the sheet and flatten it to be 1-2 cm thick
- Leave it to rise again, under a cloth, for about one hour
- Push a lot of holes in the dough with the fingertips, sprinkle a lot of olive oil and rosemary on the dough, throw some fling salt at it and push in some olives and feta cheese bites. If you want, you can also push in cherry tomatoes, red onion or whatever your taste buddies like
- Put it into the oven at 220 degrees celsius, heated air setting. Keep it there for 10 minutes or until the surface is nicely brown
Notes
- This will always be delicious. But it will be dangerously delicious right when taking it out of the oven. So make sure you eat many pieces of it then
